Frisco had the official Grand Opening of their new Bike Park this weekend, we stopped by to shoot some video of bikers hitting the dirt jumps. In addition to the 5 dirt jump lines, the Frisco Bike Park has 2 downhill/slopestyle jump lines, a pump track, and a ‘green circle’ run. The best part? It’s completely free and open from sunrise to dusk.

This past weekend the BULA office shut down early and everyone headed up the Tremblant for and awesome event and some great riding. The 24hr of Tremblant event is a race where teams of skiers/boarders try to take as many runs as they can in a 24 hour period. Fitting with the traditions of BULA, the BULA team was more about having fun then maxing out runs. Inbetween the bars, concerts, and a few late night substitutions team BULA managed for squeeze in a few runs and finished 109 out 0f 201 teams…not too shabby!!

Ekstremsportveko (Extreme Sport Week) is the biggest sport and music festival of its kind and is held every year in Voss, Western Norway. There are competitions in kayaking, rafting, mtb-bmx, kiting, skydiving, paragliding, hanggliding, multisport, freeride, big air, climbing, BASE and longboarding. For one whole week national and international athletes are competing and challenging themselves in the elements. However competition is not the primary focus. Meeting and sharing knowledge with hundreds of top athletes during this last week in June makes Extremsportveko a unique event!

Originally organized by Skigutane AS, BULA’s, Norwegian distributor, Ekstremsportvecko has grown to be run by its own non-profit organization “The Ekstreme Voss Foundation”. BULA, one of the original sponsors, continues sponsor this event. BULA’s spirit is captured in the high level of sports and athletes engaged in an all out, all fun environment.
Ekstremsportvecko coverage is broadcast by NRK – Norwegian National Television. Click the following link for more information. http://www.ekstremsportveko.com/

From March 25th to April 4th Mammoth Lakes was taken over with pro snowboard girls from all over the world. The Roxy Chicken Jam started things off with great warm sunny California weather. Unfortunately as soon as I left Colorado it started dumping snow back home so i missed some awesome powder days but hey thats how these things seem to go. The chicken Jam was a fun even to see. The girls were going off for finals with Janna Meyen-Weatherby taking a well deserved first place with Jenny Jones in second and Lisa Wilk in third. It was an honor to be riding with the girls all week and even though I didn’t do as well as I would liked, I still had a great time.

Me, Leslie, and the Kiwi’s Abby and Shelly with our awesome red rental car
The day after the Roxy Chicken Jam ended we jumped straight into Ms. Super Park. The features that were built this year were awesome and a big step up from last year. There was line of jumps starting with a massive step down into a huge gap jump with the gap below built into a quarter pipe so there were girls jumping over girls slashing snow. This went into quite a large hip which could be hit from two sides as well as a two sided jump. They had some really fun jibs set up too. The weather for super park wasn’t as cooperative as during the chicken jam. We had one day of winds with 50 mph gusts that were ripping flags out of their posts so operations had to be shut down. But overall it was awesome and I got some good shots so keep an eye out for them in next falls Snowboarder issue for Ms. Super Park.

Mammoth gets a crazy amount of snow!

This guy was having a really bad day
So as soon as I got back to CO I had to take advantage of the powder that was left before it warmed up too much so we went straight out on a sled mission and shot some cliffs and found some sweet new spots to shoot on if we get more snow this year hopefully. If not they will still be there next year! Seasons still not over yet! We have a couple more weeks at least and then I go right into summer snowboarding so there will be more to come!

These are basically the best time ever

Me chillin’ waiting for the boys
xoxoxo
